Our Mission
At Hook, we are on a mission to create quality handmade crochet products using modern colours and designs.
Specialising in baby blankets, we have created a collection of products that are not only washable and durable, but snuggly, soft and beautiful.
All of our blankets come gift wrapped in white tissue paper, in one of our branded white ribbon boxes.
We then wrap them in reclaimed bubble wrap and recycled brown paper, ensuring that everything arrived in perfect condition, at no extra cost to the environment.
Handmade in the Cotswolds, we are continuously creating new designs and taking bespoke orders. If you are looking for a unique gift, then you have come to the right place.
Meet the Maker
I first learnt to crochet when I was studying German and Business at university. I was volunteering at the weekly over 60’s club at the local Salesian convent, when I met a German lady who had moved to Oxford during the second world war. She hadn’t spoken German since leaving Germany as a child, and as we chatted in her mother tongue, she taught me my first stitches of crochet.
Over ten years have passed and I have grown to love the new skill that she gave me. I find it incredibly relaxing, whether I’m crocheting in the garden, commuting to work on the tube or most recently to pass the time during lockdown.
Having created many blankets for friends and family, I wanted to make them available to a wider audience. Unlike knitting, crochet can only be done by hand and the end result is a blanket that is unique, incredibly soft and machine washable.
They are a labour of love and seeing my creations put to use brings me so much joy.
